Richard Zimmermann, PhD – Oncidium Foundation President

VP Radiopharmaceutical Business Development, IBA Molecular (Ion Beam Applications, www.iba-worldwide.com)

Richard is a chemistry engineer, with a PhD degree in organic chemistry obtained in 1984 from the University of Strasbourg, France followed by a post-doc at Georgetown University, Washington DC. He spent 14 years in research laboratories of conventional pharmaceutical companies (Beecham, Solvay Pharmaceuticals) in France, Germany and the Netherlands before joining in 1998 the radiopharmaceutical company CIS bio international (acquired by Schering in 2001) in Saclay, France, as head of the Research and Development team. From 2004 to 2006 he was in charge of the Europe PET Business Unit, representing Schering in all newly created JVs with IBA. When IBA acquired CIS, in 2006, he became in charge of the radiopharmaceutical business development, to create the nuclear medicine product pipeline of the company.

Eric van Walle, PhD – Vice President

General Manager, SCK•CEN (Studiecentrum voor Kernenergie – Centre d’Etude de l’Energie Nucléaire, www.sckcen.be), Mol and Brussels, Belgium

Eric obtained in 1985 a PhD degree in Nuclear Physics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. After visiting Princeton University, USA for 2 years, he joined SCK•CEN in 1989 to perform research on material degradation. Since 2001, he became part-time professor at the Faculty of Applied Science at the KU Leuven and teaches within the Belgian Nuclear higher Education Network. He represents Belgium as a member of the Board of the Halden Reactor Programme (Norway), is vice-chair and liaison officer of BNS (Belgian Nuclear Society), sits on the Board of Belgonucléaire and is also member of the board of Vinçotte Nuclear Safety and of the governing board of Fusion for Energy (ITER project). He is author and co-author of some 250 international papers. Prof. Dr. Eric van Walle was appointed Director-General of SCK•CEN in 2006.

Marc Domb, MD – Treasurer

Administrator, Cerro Torre, Waterloo and Brussels, Belgium
Marc is an abdominal surgeon from Brussels (Belgium). He was Director of the Digestive Surgery Department of the Clinique du Parc Leopold in Brussels and Consultant in colo-proctology at Erasme Hospital, Free University of Brussels. In 1999, he became General Manager of the CHIREC, a large hospital in Brussels, Belgium. In 2001, he was General Manager of Nikitra a company that organized conferences worldwide and in 2004, he founded his own company, Cerro Torre, a specialized consulting company focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Chris Behrenbruch, PhD

CEO, ImaginAb Inc, www.imaginab.com, Los Angeles CA, USA
Chris is a serial entrepreneur with a diverse background in developing and commercializing biotechnology, healthcare IT and medical devices from both the operational and executive perspective. With over a decade of commercial experience in molecular imaging and radiochemistry, Chris was a Vice President at Siemens Molecular Imaging following the acquisition of Mirada Solutions (as CEO) and CTI Molecular Imaging. He is currently co-founder and CEO of ImaginAb, Inc., a Los Angeles-based biotechnology company specializing in recombinant antibody technology for diagnostic imaging and therapy. Chris received an engineering degree from Monash University (Australia), his doctorate in the field of cancer imaging from the University of Oxford, and an MBA jointly from NYU and the London School of Economics.
Chris was also recently recognized by the World Economic Forum as a 2011 Young Global Leader, one of 200 outstanding individuals selected by the WEF each year for a 5 year term to explore issues related to global development and sustainability.

Frank Uytterhaegen

CEO, IBA China (Ion Beam Applications, www.iba-worldwide.com), Shanghai, China PR

Frank studied contemporary history and philosophy at Gent University in Belgium, and became Assistant Professor in Political Sciences in Belgium, a position he occupied till 1984. He moved to China to establish Chinalink NV a Belgian registered company aimed at representing Belgian SMEs on the Chinese market. He did set up the Chinalink NV office in Macao to cover activities in medical and automotive sector. In 1987, Frank set up activities for IBA in Beijing and later in the office for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong. In 2004, he did set up IBA China as a WOFE to organize marketing, R&D and sourcing activities for IBA in China and Asia, which culminated with the inauguration of IBA’s production plant in Beijing in 2007.
We are very sorry to tell you that Frank passed away on December 27, 2011. We will be missing him, but now, in his memories, all of us have also to continue this work in which he believed a lot.

Jean-Michel Vanderhofstadt

General Manager, IRE (Institut des Radioéléments, www.ire.eu) and IRE Elit (Environment & Lifescience Technology), Fleurus, Belgium

Jean-Michel is graduated from the University of Liège and Brussels, Belgium where he obtained his degree of industrial pharmacist and post-degree in Business Management, respectively. From 1986 to 2004, he worked for SCA Mölnlycke in Belgium, Ireland, Czech Republic and Sweden as a quality control manager, product developer, production manager, site manager, general manager of the Czech subsidiary and R&D surgical business director. In September 2005, he took the position of General Manager of Detry (food sector), a plant of about 250 people. Since June 2008, he is the General Manager of IRE, Fleurus, Belgium.
